What is Alpha?
We believe that everyone should have the chance to explore faith, ask questions, and share their point of view.
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Alpha is run all around the globe, and everyone’s welcome.
What does It look like?
Hospitality
It's important to connect with one another, now more than ever. That’s why at Alpha, all sessions begin with a time to communicate, relax and develop friendships, whether in person over a meal or virtually with a cup of tea.
Talk
The talks are designed to engage and provoke conversation. Each speech, either given by a speaker or played as a video, is around thirty minutes long. They discuss the main questions of faith and unpack the roots of Christianity, answering the questions like, Who is Jesus? How are we able to have faith? How should I pray and why? How is God leading us?
Discussion
One of the key components of any Alpha is the ability to exchange ideas and opinions on the subject and to discuss it in a small group. There's no pressure to say anything, and there is nothing you can't say (seriously). It's a chance to learn from others in an honest, friendly and open space and to share your own viewpoint.
